Border bill co-author Sinema addresses 'real misunderstanding' as House GOP calls it 'DOA'
Fox News
Arizona Independent Senator Kyrsten Sinema responded to Republican criticism of her border and immigration legislation forged with Sens. Lankford and Murphy.
"I think there's some real misunderstanding about this section of the law. The Border Emergency Authority is actually a really critical element," Sinema said on "Special Report." Charles Creitz is a reporter for Fox News Digital.
Sinema said the bill is right to expand detention capabilities, given the estimated seven to 10-year Notice To Appear (NTA) timeframe for migrants ultimately released into the nation's interior. He joined Fox News in 2013 as a writer and production assistant.
