The Bombay High Court granted anticipatory bail to a Mumbai Police constable after the woman who had registered a rape case against him approached the court for quashing it. The constable, attached to the Local Arms Division of Mumbai Police, said they had reached an amicable settlement and the relationship between them was now cordial. The woman had registered an FIR against the hawaldar at VP Marg Police Station last year. The prosecution, however, did not oppose the anticipatory bail plea. The HC had declined the constable protection last year in October, following which he withdrew his petition.More Related News
