Black fungus declared notified disease under Epidemic Act in Delhi

In a notification issued on Thursday, the Delhi government declared black fungus a notified disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897.

The Delhi government on Thursday declared mucormycosis, commonly known as black fungus, a notified disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897. This has been done because "the ordinary provisions of law for the time being in force are insufficient for the purpose" of tackling the "outbreak of the dangerous epidemic disease," the Delhi government's official notification stated.
