BJD Minister requests Ramesh Pokhriyal for free admission of Covid-19 orphaned kids in KVs

Ruling BJD MP Amar Patnaik has written a letter to the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal urging him to allow free admission to Covid-19 orphaned children in KVs.

In a letter to the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, ruling BJD MP Amar Patnaik stated that the education minister should consider free admission to Kendriya Vidyalayas for children orphaned due to Covid-19. He wrote that the pandemic broke families to such an extent that children as young as five-six years have been suddenly rendered orphaned. Further, in several cases, they are too small to realise the full loss of parental support both in psychological and economic terms. His letter further read that the education minister should consider giving free admission beyond any quota in any class and beyond any sanctioned number of seats in the Kendriya Vidyalayas to such children on humanitarian grounds.
