Leon Black is completely stepping away from running private equity firm Apollo Global Management amid scrutiny over the billionaire's ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
Apollo (APO) announced Monday that Black has stepped down as CEO four months ahead of schedule and will no longer serve as the firm's chairman. In a statement, Black said this is the "ideal moment to step back and focus on my family, my wife Debra's and my health issues, and by many other interests."
