Bill Belichick ignored scouts when selecting NFL Draft bust
NY Post
Bill Belichick the GM is making life tough for Bill Belichick the coach.
After 21 years and six Super Bowls in New England, Belichick has earned vast power over the team’s operations and draft decisions. But a rogue decision from the 2019 draft is already looking like the wrong choice. Prior to the draft, Patriots scouts were reportedly high on wideouts Deebo Samuel and A.J. Brown, now of the 49ers and Titans, respectively. But Belichick, according to Sports Illustrated, ignored those scouts in selecting N’Keal Harry with the 32nd pick. Harry has averaged just 19.7 receiving yards per game through two seasons, while Samuel has tallied 54.2 and Brown has topped 70 yards per contest.
SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
