White House confirms pandemic and China’s power are top matters of discussion at Biden’s first G7 meeting.
US President Joe Biden plans to focus on the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic during his upcoming meeting with G7 world leaders, White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed on Thursday. G7, short for the Group of Seven, is an intergovernmental organisation with the US, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom as members. Russia was previously a member before its 2014 annexation of Ukraine’s Crimea caused its removal. Friday’s meeting will be Biden’s first with the group as president and his first major international engagement since taking office last month. The meeting will take place virtually due to the pandemic.More Related News
