Biden's proposed budget would throw billions at ATF amid controversial new gun ownership rules
Fox News
President Biden plans to throw billions of taxpayer dollars at the ATF amid its controversial new rules cracking down on gun owner rights across the country.
If approved, Biden's budget would increase funding for the ATF by roughly $200 million, or 13.6%, compared to the fiscal year 2023 budget. It would also mark a $663 million increase, or 50%, from former President Obama's final budget in fiscal year 2017. Brandon Gillespie is an associate editor at Fox News. According to the White House, the additional funding would go towards further regulating the firearms industry, including implementing the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, creating gun trafficking strike forces and enforcing background checks.
