Biden proposes summit with Putin in a third country to discuss full range of issues confronting US and Russia
United States President Joseph Biden and President Vladimir Putin of Russia spoke by telephone on Friday and Biden proposed a future summit meeting between the two leaders, as the new US administration seeks a more constructive relationship with Moscow. “They discussed a number of regional and global issues, including the intent of the United States and Russia to pursue a strategic stability dialogue on a range of arms control and emerging security issues,” the White House said in a statement. The Kremlin said in a separate statement that Biden told Putin that the US president wants to normalise bilateral ties and to cooperate on arms control, Iran’s nuclear programme, Afghanistan and climate change, the Reuters news outlet reported.More Related News
