The Biden administration built on its effort to cultivate close ties to prominent figures within the labor sector this week with President Biden’s decision to nominate Richard Trumka Jr. to a seat on the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Trumka Jr. currently serves as general counsel and staff director of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform’s Economic and Consumer Policy Subcommittee. Prior to that role, he was an assistant attorney general in Maryland. Republican lawmakers have been critical of Biden’s move to appoint officials with union ties to posts within his administration.More Related News
