President Biden nominated Elizabeth Prelogar to be the next U.S. solicitor general at the Department of Justice, the White House announced Wednesday morning.
The Idaho-born attorney was involved in then-Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, serving as assistant special counsel. Prelogar, whose role as solicitor general will include arguing cases before the Supreme Court, has extensive judicial experience, having clerked for Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elena Kagan. Prior to that, the Harvard Law graduate clerked for current Attorney General Merrick Garland when he was a D.C. Circuit Court judge.
