Police and Democratic lawmakers can sue former President Trump over his role in the January 6 storming of the US Capitol, the Justice Department announced Thursday.
Attorneys with the DOJ's civil rights division wrote in the filing that a president's protected speech "does not include incitement of imminent private violence."
