Bengaluru HC disposes plea seeking to ban Congress padayatra

The Bengaluru High Court disposed of a writ petition seeking to ban the Congress Padayatra. The HC said the purpose for which the plea was filed no longer exists as the padayatra has been suspended temporarily.

The Bengaluru HC, on Friday, January 14 disposed of a writ petition seeking to ban the Congress-led Mekedatu Padayatra. The HC said since the Congress leaders had decided to suspend the padayatra, the purpose for which the plea was filed no longer exists.

Congress leaders on Thursday announced that the Mekedatu padyatra was temporarily suspended owing to the strict Covid-19 restrictions imposed in Bengaluru.
