Doha, Qatar: Barzan University College (BUC), in collaboration with Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, officially inaugurated Qatar’s first Australian tertiary qualifications yesterday, marking a significant advancement in the nation’s higher education sector.
This collaboration underscores the College’s commitment to providing international-standard education that equips students with the skills, confidence, and innovative mindset needed to lead Qatar and the wider region into a future of emerging opportunities.
With more than 100 students already enrolled, the BUC–Swinburne partnership promises to be a transformative force in Qatar’s educational landscape—one that blends global best practices with local aspirations.
The inauguration, held at Le Royal Meridien, was graced by Ambassador of Australia to Qatar H E Shane Flanagan, Vice-Chairman of BUC Dr. Hassan Al-Derham, Vice-Chancellor and President of Swinburne University of Technology Professor Pascale Quester and her senior delegates from Australia, and Co-Founder & CEO of BUC Eng. Abdur Rahman.
More than 100 government, industry, academic and community leaders were specially invited to mark this momentous occasion.
