Bangladesh vs Sir Lanka: Test specialist Mehidy Hasan eager to perform in all 3 formats

In the latest official rankings released on Wednesday, Mehidy jumped three places to become only the third Bangladesh bowler, after Shakib Al Hasan and Abdur Razzak, to be in the top two in the ODI standings.

Bangladesh off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz was known as a Test specialist early on in his career. However, the off-spinner has changed the perception with his hard work in the shorter formats by climbing up to No 2 in the ICC’s rankings for bowlers in ODIs. Interestingly, Mehidy is only the third Bangladeshi, after Shakib Al-Hasan and Abdur Razzak, to break into the top two of ODI rankings. “I never thought I could reach No. 2 in the ODI rankings, so I am feeling great,” Mehidy told reporters, ahead of the third ODI against Sri Lanka.
