Doha, Qatar: As part of its preparations for the holy month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs organized the annual “Young Fasting Child” event at Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque.
The initiative, held under the supervision of the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, drew a large number of participating students and their parents in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and positive engagement.
The event aims to instil reverence for the holy month of Ramadan in the hearts of young students and encourage them to observe the pillar of fasting. Organized annually ahead of Ramadan, the initiative seeks to promote a deeper understanding of fasting and elevate the spiritual significance of the blessed month among younger generations.
Through “Young Fasting Child,” the Ministry works to strengthen faith-based values among students and reinforce the importance of fasting during Ramadan as one of the five pillars of Islam.
The event also focuses on nurturing noble principles associated with the holy month, encouraging children to embrace the ethics of fasting, including patience, perseverance, generosity, and compassion. The event targeted students aged 5 to 11 from Quran learning centres affiliated with the Ministry, with the participation of 150 students. Attendees included students from several centres, such as Dreama Centre, Barzan Youth Club, and the youth centres of Simaisma, Al Daayen, and Al Ka’aban.
