Doha: The Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has wound up the first summer course for students of the Al Noor Qur’anic Educational Center.
The three-week module saw the participation of 30 Qatari students enrolled in the Centre’s evening study circles, whose ages ranged between 9 and 16.
The Department of Da’wah honored the students who participated in the final course, in recognition of their memorization achievements, efforts to review the Holy Qur’an, and reflection on its meanings.
General Supervisor of the Al Noor Qur’anic Educational Center, Youssef Hassan Al Hammadi, highlighted that the course was intended to capitalize on the summer break to hone the students’ skills in terms of cultural and faith behaviour through staging a daily program starting from 8am until just prior to the midday prayer.
He clarified that students engaged in memorising two pages from the Holy Qur’an on a daily basis, enhanced by reflection on the Qur’anic concepts and values.
