Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced Friday he will travel to Glasgow for the COP26 climate summit later this month, marking an about-turn for the leader who previously indicated he might not attend the talks.
Morrison has been under pressure from allies, including the United States, to announce a more ambitious climate pledge, with Australia's target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions sitting well below those made by the US, European Union and UK, among other developed nations.

The two men killed as they floated holding onto their capsized boat in a secondary strike against a suspected drug vessel in early September did not appear to have radio or other communications devices, the top military official overseeing the strike told lawmakers on Thursday, according to two sources with direct knowledge of his congressional briefings.
