The only railway leading to the Nainital region was washed away by the flowing waters of the Jolla River, stranding hundreds of passengers, as all flights were cancelled and dozens of highways were closed due to landslides.

At least 46 people have died in flash floods triggered by heavy rains in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand.

The Indian state's report on the natural disaster stated that heavy rains led to floods and landslides, which killed many people during the past three days. The report added that 11 people are still missing, due to floods and rain-related accidents.

The only railway leading to the Nainital region was washed away by the flowing waters of the Jolla River, stranding hundreds of passengers, as all flights were cancelled and dozens of highways were closed due to landslides.

This comes after 11 people were killed and at least 13 others were missing on Sunday, as a result of heavy rains that caused landslides in Kerala, southern India.
