Assam Budget Session: Opposition walks out of Assembly over fuel price hike issue

The Opposition staged a walkout on the first day of the Budget Session in the Assam Assembly over rising prices of fuel and other essential commodities.

Opposition MLAs staged a walkout on Monday, the first day of the Budget Session of the Assam Assembly, to protest the rising prices of fuel and other essential commodities. The Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) had moved an adjournment motion. They demanded the Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, Biswajit Daimary, to discuss the rising prices of petrol, diesel and other essential commodities.
