Arvind Kejriwal To Stay In Jail, Petition Against Arrest Rejected

Arvind Kejriwal - whom the Enforcement Directorate has dubbed the scam's "kingpin" - will remain in Delhi's Tihar Jail till April 15, in line with a city court's order last week.

Arvind Kejriwal will remain in jail, the Delhi High Court said Tuesday as it ruled the Chief Minister's challenge to his March 21 arrest in the alleged liquor policy scam "not sustainable", particularly in light of the Enforcement Directorate's claim it has evidence he conspired to formulate the now-scrapped rule. 

The Aam Aadmi Party leader - whom the Enforcement Directorate has dubbed the scam's "kingpin" - will remain in Delhi's Tihar Jail till April 15, in line with a city court's order last week. The ED - which had custody of Mr Kejriwal after his arrest - did not seek an extension, but did argue against his release, claiming the AAP leader had been "uncooperative" during multiple interrogation sessions.
