
Arthritis drugs can help critically ill Covid-19 patients, study suggests

Drugs typically used to treat rheumatoid arthritis by reducing inflammation were found in a new study to help critically ill Covid-19 patients in intensive care units.
But experts warn that more research is needed before doctors start using the drugs more widely, because another new study found that one of those drugs did not help patients hospitalized with Covid-19 pneumonia get significantly better. The two studies were published in the New England Journal of Medicine on Thursday.
