Rusty Bowers, a Republican who is the speaker of the Arizona House of Representatives, is expected to testify at Tuesday's hearing held by the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, riot at the US Capitol, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The hearing is expected to focus on former President Donald Trump's pressure campaign on state officials to overturn Joe Biden's victory in 2020.
Bowers will join Georgia's election officials — Brad Raffensperger and Gabe Sterling — who will be part of a panel before the January 6 committee detailing Trump's campaign to force states to overturn their certified election results.

Approximately 1,000 US soldiers with the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division are expecting to deploy in coming days to the Middle East, according to two sources familiar with the matter, adding to the growing military firepower in the region as the Trump administration says it is in talks with Iran to end the conflict.
