Arguing against statehood for DC, congressman says it has no car dealerships (it does)

Georgia Rep. Jody Hice claimed that the District of Columbia would be the only state "without a car dealership." He later apologized for the error, though he said he still doesn't know where to find one.
Hice, a Georgia Republican who has been in Congress since 2015, announced that he was running for Georgia secretary of state. He received the endorsement of former President Donald Trump. Then Hice argued that the District of Columbia should not be a state, in part because it does not have a car dealership. Next, he apologized after being told that DC does have car dealerships -- though he explained that he still did not know where to find one.
Hours after ousted Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro was formally charged with narcoterrorism and other offenses in New York, the Justice Department used the indictment at a federal courthouse 1,300 miles away in its effort to defend President Donald Trump’s ability to use a wartime authority to speed up some deportations.

As US special forces carried out an audacious, night-time raid to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro Friday night, President Donald Trump watched the action unfold from his estate at Mar-a-Lago. Among those at his side was Marco Rubio, his powerful secretary of state and national security advisor.
