The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has bagged the Skoch Award 2024 for its Unified Ticketing System (UTS) project.
In a statement issued on Saturday (November 30), APSRTC Executive Director (Administration) G.V. Ravi Varma said on behalf of the Corporation’s Managing Director Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, the Chief Engineer (IT) Y. Srinivasa Rao received the award from Secretary, Central Education Department Sanjay Kumar and Chairman of Skoch International Group Sameer at a programme held in New Delhi on November 30 (Saturday).
The APSRTC’s Unified Ticketing system integrates ticketing, reservations, bus passes, and cargo services into a single platform, enhancing passenger convenience and operational efficiency.
The implementation of UTS has delivered multiple benefits to APSRTC, including a rise in digital transactions. It has enhanced the passenger experience by offering a single portal for online bookings, in-bus ticketing, cargo services and real-time bus tracking, along with multiple secure payment options for a seamless journey.
It has also improved operational efficiency by providing real-time analytics, optimising performance, and reducing manpower costs through a secure, centralised system that integrates updates and data across the network.

The Union and State governments provided support in several ways to the needy people, but private institutions should also extend help, especially to those requiring medical assistance, said C.P. Rajkumar, Managing Director, Nalam Multispeciality Hospital, here on Saturday. Speaking at a function to honour Inspector General of Police V. Balakrishnan and neurologist S. Meenakshisundaram with C. Palaniappan Memorial Award for their contribution to society and Nalam Kappom medical adoption of Type-1 diabetic children, he said the governments implemented numerous welfare programmes, but the timely help by a private hospital or a doctor in the neighbourhood to the people in need would go a long way in safeguarding their lives.
