Anthony Edwards hurls ball into stands after being ejected in loss to Lakers
NY Post
Things went downhill for Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards in a 111-102 loss to the Lakers on Thursday night.
The All-Star guard was visibly furious while being escorted off of the court following his second technical, which resulted in an automatic ejection in the third quarter, and he whipped the ball at fans sitting in the first few rows at Crypto.com Arena.
The crowd roared with ‘oohs’ as the 23-year-old Edwards slapped hands with some of his teammates on his way to the locker room.
In the third quarter, Edwards was driving to the basket while being guarded by Lakers guard Gabe Vincent and he slipped and fell while attempting a step-back move.
Edwards, who finished with 18 points, seemed frustrated there was no foul called on the play and instead it resulted in a jump ball with Lakers big man Jarred Vanderbilt.
He was called for his second technical foul after he continued chirping at official Brent Barnaky and the other officials.
