Antarctica's ice sheet is critical to the fate of coastal cities. How much it will melt remains a big question
CNN
A pair of new studies that project how much the world's major land ice masses could contribute to sea level rise show that there is still disagreement over how much of Antarctica's ice sheet could melt in a warmer world.
The hulking mass at the bottom of the Earth is home to the world's largest land ice reservoir. If Antarctica's entire ice sheet were to melt, it could raise sea levels by nearly 190 feet, more than 9 times as much as Greenland could potentially contribute. The world's other glaciers and ice sheets contain more than enough water to cause major problems for coastal cities.More Related News
