
Anna University partners with C-DAC to offer PG programmes in cutting-edge technology

Anna University and C-DAC partner to offer M Tech and postgraduate diploma programs in cutting-edge technology.
The Centre for Internet of Things (CIoT), Anna University, and C-DAC, Bengaluru, have signed an agreement to work towards offering M.Tech and postgraduate diploma programmes in cutting-edge technology.
The CIoT functions from MIT campus in Chrompet. Established in 2022, its objective is to promote the IoT ecosystem. Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is the premier research and development organisation of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to carry out R&D in IT, electronics, and associated areas.
The memorandum of understanding was signed recently in the presence of Anna University registrar J. Prakash. S. While D. Sudarsan, executive director, represented C-DAC, Bengaluru, Magesh Ethirajan, Director General, C-DAC, presided over the MoU signing ceremony. Senior officials from both organisations participated in the event.
C-DAC officials said they would offer capacity building programme to students and working professionals through CIoT. Anna University and C-DAC will work together to offer M.Tech programmes and post graduate diploma programmes in cutting-edge technologies such as quantum computing, quantum electronics, semiconductor chip design, and high-performance computing with funding support from MeitY.
A centre of excellence in the domain could also be established in the university. The agreement aims to focus on activities such as collaborative research and development programme through joint initiatives and projects to advance research and development in various scientific and technological fields.
The collaboration would continue in consultancy to cater to the needs of industries, besides disseminating the research findings through publications in reputed conferences and journals and publishing patents. The MoU envisages initiatives to improve teaching and research capabilities of faculty members through continuous professional development and training.
