
Anantapur and Sathya Sai districts will become a hub of solar energy, say Ministers

The Andhra Pradesh government is steering forward the development projects in the Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts, focussing on the Madakasira Assembly constituency, Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad said on Friday.
The Minister, along with his Cabinet colleagues S. Savitha, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, and Satya Kumar Yadav, took part in the inauguration of the APSPDCL’s new sub-station here.
The Minister said the government was committed to transforming the drought-prone region into a hub for solar power generation and heavy industries.
Accusing the previous YSRCP government of resorting to rampant corruption during its tenure, the Minister said, “Once the investigations into various scams are completed, the financial irregularities will be brought to light.”
Minister for Energy Ravi Kumar said that 20 lakh new solar connections had been approved across Andhra Pradesh under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, at 10,000 units for each Assembly constituency.
“Madakasira constituency will get three new power substations to tackle the electricity supply issues. Solar and wind energy initiatives are fast catching up in Madakasira,” he said.
Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said that the government would soon launch the ₹7,000 crore solar park in Madakasira. “It will generate employment opportunities and supply power to villages. Land acquisition for this project will offer farmers several long-term benefits as prt of the lease,” he said.
