Dr Soha al-Bayat, Head of the Vaccination Department at the Ministry of Public Health, explained that all members of society are among the target groups to take the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. While talking to Qatar TV, she said that the priority is for the elderly and those with chronic diseases and the front line workers in tackling the virus.The announcement by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) to give booster doses of the vaccines is considered the beginning of a new phase of the national vaccination programme. She said doses of the approved vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) in the country will be given, and those who received the second dose of the vaccine more than eight months ago are eligible for the booster doses. She added that the booster dose has proven to be safe and effective and will not have different side effects from the first and second dose.
