Paris: The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) said that Hungary has reported a concerning outbreak of the deadly H5N1 bird flu on a fattening duck farm in Szolnok.

The outbreak has raised concerns due to the swift spread of avian influenza across Europe. The virus has affected 19,700 ducks, leading to the culling of surviving birds.

WOAH revealed the detection of the H5N1 virus within a flock of 19,700 ducks in Szolnok, resulting in the immediate death of 725 birds. In response, Hungarian authorities have acted swiftly, culling the remaining birds to curb further spread.
