Aidan Hutchinson gets record-breaking $180 million contract from Lions
NY Post
The Detroit Lions have locked up their star pass rusher.
Aidan Hutchinson agreed to a four-year contract extension, his agent announced Wednesday, with multiple reports stating the deal is for $180 million.
The deal includes $141 million guaranteed — the most ever guaranteed to a non-quarterback.
Hutchinson’s $45 million average salary trails only star Green Bay Packers defensive end Micah Parsons for the highest annual earnings among non-QBs, according to Roster Management System. Parsons agreed to a four-year, $186 million deal with Green Bay in August following his blockbuster trade from Dallas, a contract that boasts an average salary of $46.5 million, per Spotrac.
The 25-year-old Hutchinson was the NFL sacks leader last year before suffering a season-ending leg injury in Week 6 against the Cowboys.
Drafted second overall in 2022, Hutchinson started all 17 games in each of his first two seasons, racking up 28.5 sacks and earning a Pro Bowl nod in his sophomore campaign.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
