Agreement over welfare of labourers not honoured: Jharkhand government to Border Roads Organisation

Jharkhand's Labour secretary has written to the Border Roads Organisation, alleging that an agreement between the state government and the agency over the welfare of labourers was not honoured.

The Jharkhand government has accused the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) of violating a mutual agreement signed between the state and the central agency to ensure the welfare of its migrant workers. Last year, many workers were recruited by the BRO to increase the pace of road construction after tensions escalated between India and China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
