Adarsh wins standard pistol gold
Adarsh Singh was in top form in clinching the men’s 25-metre standard pistol gold with a seven-point margin over Udhayveer Sidhu, Omkar Singh and Olympian Gurpreet Singh in the 67th National shooting championship at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad.
Udhayveer and Omkar won the silver and bronze respectively after pipping Gurpreet on the better count of innter-10s.
Prashant Kumar won the men’s 50-metre free pistol gold, while Sainyam won both the women’s and junior gold medals in the same event with a score of 548.
The medals are decided on qualification scores, as the non-Olympic events do not feature the finals.
The results: 25m standard pistol: Men: 1. Adarsh Singh 583; 2. Udhayveer Sidhu 576; 3. Omkar Singh 576.
Juniors: 1. Abhinav Choudhary 575; 2. Suraj Sharma 572; 3. Mukesh Nelavalli 568.
25m sports pistol: Junior men: 1. Mukesh Nelavalli 588; 2. Abhinav Choudhary 587; 3. Suraj Sharma 587.
