The airport is operated by Adani Airport Holdings Ltd through its subsidiary Guwahati International Airport Limited (GIAL) The operational rollout followed a phased, systems-led activation process, including live trials of check-in, baggage management, security protocols and aircraft turnaround. The terminal was formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Dec 20, 2025.
