Act of kindness: Fruit vendor offers free bananas to feed hungry in Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi

Muthupandi, a fruit vendor who operates out of a rented space in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, has extended a helping hand to those affected by the pandemic.

As the coronavirus continues to wreak havoc on people across the country, with the situation deteriorating in several states, good Samaritans are leaving their imprint in an effort to assist those in need. Among them, many of these kind-hearted Samaritans are those who themselves not have privileged means of livelihood. Muthupandi, a fruit seller who has been running his shop from a rented space in Thoothukudi's Kovilpatti town in Tamil Nadu for the past two years, reached out to those in need. Muthupandi hangs banana bunches in front of his shop every day before closing as many people are struggling financially due to the coronavirus-enforced lockdown.
