David Alexander Halliburton pleaded guilty to failing to remain at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm or death, and obstructing justice.
Anastasia Marie Halliburton pleaded guilty to obstructing justice.
The pair were arrested last year in connection with the hit and run that killed Lucas Shortreed 14 years earlier.
On Oct. 10, 2008, Shortreed was walking home from a party in Alma, Ont. when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
From the outset, OPP believed they knew what type of car was involved – a 1995 to 1997 white Dodge Neon.
Officers received and investigated over 100 tips, but in 14 years, they weren’t able to find the vehicle.
