AC Milan halt contract talks after Ultras confront Donnarumma at training ground

AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini says the club has paused contract renewal talks until the end of the season after a group of fans confronted goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma at the club’s training ground.

The Italy international’s future is uncertain as he is out of contract in June, and a group of hard-line ‘Ultras’ went to the club’s Milanello complex on Saturday to address the situation directly. Italian news agency ANSA reports that the fans told the goalkeeper that he should not play in Milan’s crucial Serie A match against Juventus next Sunday unless he renews his contract.
