ABVP workers accuse nuns of conversion, force them off train in Jhansi
India Today
ABVP workers on Friday accused two nuns of forceful religious conversion and forced them off the train in Jhansi. The accusations were later found to be false.
Two nuns, travelling on a train from Delhi to Rourkela in Odisha with their two postulates, were forced to deboard the train in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi on Friday after an ABVP worker accused them of forced conversion. Harassment of nuns in UP is shocking. Indian citizens' fundamental rights have been violated. @BajrangdalOrg & @Uppolice have tarnished India's image and our ancient tradition of religious tolerance. He informed his fellow ABVP workers and Hindu Jagran Manch members, who reached the Jhansi station and forced the nuns to deboard. Soon, the railway police reached the spot and took the nuns to the police station. However, when the police interrogated the nuns and their postulates they found the claim wrong as the two postulates were carrying their baptism cards issued in 2003.More Related News
