Co., the distributor for Toyota Brand in Qatar organized a Hybrid Electric Vehicle Experience event for the journalists and influencers as part of their support for the Qatar Sustainability Week activity. The attendees were given the opportunity to test-drive the range of the latest models of Toyota Hybrid Electric Vehicles which included C-HR, Corolla, Corolla Cross, Camry, RAV4 & the Highlander. Upon their arrival at Sakura Lounge, journalists and influencers were welcomed by Firas Mufti, Senior Marketing Manager, AAB, followed by a brief session on the HEV technology, advantages of HEV as well as the agenda for the day. Awwad Mohamed, Senior Manager, Toyota National Sales also briefed the attendees on Toyota HEV line-up while Ms. Rassamunira Ramli, Corporate Communication & CSR Manager highlighted AAB’s support for the Qatar Sustainability Week in respect of Affordable and Clean Energy by using hybrid vehicles.The driving experience event started from Al Abdulghani Tower towards Salwa Hilton Resort covering about 100 kms. There were also stopovers to allow the guests to change driving positions to enable everyone to experience the Hybrid technology. In the Salwa Hilton Resort, each journalist talked about key benefits & points they enjoyed and experienced while driving these amazing models. Some of these positive comments revolved around the power & acceleration (two sources of power – Gasoline + Electric Motor), Quietness inside the cabin, smooth driving, longer mileage as well as for the low carbon. Highlander HEVThe Highlander combines all the familiar Toyota SUV attributes of comfort, drivability, and safety with low emissions, greater fuel efficiency, Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD), space on demand, and an impressive 1,500 kg towing capacity. The Highlander’s thrilling drive personality is brought to life by a new electrified hybrid system that combines two power sources. The vehicle’s 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle petrol engine is coming with a combined power of 240 hp, they are capable of delivering a maximum torque figure of 231 nm.Toyota RAV 4 HEVThe electrified hybrid system combines two power sources consisting of a petrol engine and two electric motors producing 176 hp and 118 hp, respectively, with a combined power of 218 hp, and delivering 221 nm and 121 nm of torque, respectively. It is also mated to a Direct Shift Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that provides the lowest fuel consumption value of 22.2km/L while delivering a new level of driving pleasure.Toyota CHR HEVThe C-HR Hybrid-Electric Vehicle (HEV), reflects Toyota’s long-standing drive for sustainability. The company has harnessed the power of innovation to emerge as a leader in the development of environmentally friendly automotive technologies. Offering the lowest fuel consumption value in its category at 23.9 km/L, the class-leading C-HR enables customers to contribute to a greener future while enjoying the increased driving satisfaction provided by its advanced technologies. The Engine comes with a combined HP of 122 hp. Corolla CrossThe Corolla Cross has been designed as a new type of SUV that combines a tough urban-style exterior with a comfortable and convenient interior to exceed customer expectations. The TNGA platform (GA-C) has enabled the Corolla Cross to achieve high-quality performance, a comfortable ride, and outstanding quietness. In addition to its exceptional comfort, the Corolla Cross provides a spacious cabin, effortless entry and exit, class-leading luggage space suitable for all scenarios, and tried and tested safety equipment inherited from the Corolla series. The Engine comes with a combined HP of 121 hp. Toyota Camry HEVThe Hybrid Camry can be driven entirely by either electrical power with zero-fuel consumption and carbon emissions, or with a combination of a petrol engine and electric motors depending on the vehicle speed and customer’s driving behavior. The batteries in the hybrid electric drivetrain are automatically charged by either the petrol engine or when braking and decelerating. Combining two power sources consisting of a petrol engine and electric motors, the hybrid electric drivetrain on Toyota Camry HEV produces 176 HP and 118 HP and delivers 22.5 kg-m and 20.6 kg-m of torque, respectively. The combined power of the two power sources (petrol engine and electric motors) is 215 hp. Toyota Corolla HEVExemplifying Toyota’s continuous commitment to providing environmentally friendly vehicles is the addition of a hybrid electric model, which combines two power sources consisting of a petrol engine and electric motors. The class-leading model offers the lowest fuel consumption value in its category at 27.6km/L. Corolla HEV is equipped with a 4 cylinder, 1.8 liter engine with a combined power of 121 HP.
