Home Minister Anita warns against drug abuse, launches 'Sankalpam' program with MSME Minister Srinivas in Vizianagaram.
Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita on Saturday warned youngsters against avoid usage as it could permanently impact one’s physical and mental health.
Along with MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas, Ms. Anitha formally launched the ‘Sankalpam’ programme, designed by Vizianagaram Superintendent of Police (SP) Vakul Jindal, at MIMS College of Nellimarla located on the outskirts of Vizianagaram district.
She has also released the ‘Be Smart-Don’t Start’ brochure on the occasion to create awareness among the public on the ill effects of drug abuse.
The Home Minister said that the Eagle Wing has started an initiative to curb the drug menace while urging the public to inform the police by calling 1972, in case they have any knowledge of drug transportation and their usage.
Mr. Jindal said that drop boxes were arranged in colleges to gather information on drug peddlers. Mr. Srinivas urged the students to focus on studies sincerely and avoid excess usage of social media.
Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appalanaidu, Nellimarla MLA Lokam Madhavi, TDP Vizianagaram district Kimidi Nagarjuna and others were present.
Later, the ministers participated in a developmental review at Collector’s office. Ms. Anita who is in-charge minister of the district promised to start revenue meetings in all mandals to redress land grievances.
