The 9-year-old child who was hospitalized with severe injuries following the violent Astroworld music festival crowd surge earlier this month has died from his injuries, his family confirmed Sunday.
Ezra Blount was "trampled and catastrophically injured" at the concert on Nov. 5, when a wave of concertgoers began pushing one another during Travis Scott's performance, according to a statement issued by Blout family attorney Ben Crump and co-counsel Alex Hilliard and Bob Hilliard, and Paul Grinke.
He had attended the concert at NRG Park in Houston, Texas, with his father, and was on his father's shoulders when the crowd surge began, the boy's grandparents told ABC Houston station KTRK.
At one point, Ezra got lost in the crowd of at least 50,000 people.
