Eight people were killed and several others injured after a fire broke out at an electric scooter showroom in Telangana's Secunderabad early this morning.Officials said the fire broke out at the Ruby electric scooter showroom on the ground floor of the building, and soon engulfed the first and second floor, killing eight people.
Most of them seemed to have died because of asphyxiation caused by the smoke, they added.
Videos show several people jumping from the upper floors of the building, who were then rushed to hospital for treatment.
Several fire engines are at the spot trying to douse the flames, officials said.
