The 70th Filmfare Awards South nominations for 2024 have been announced, celebrating top talent across Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema.
New Delhi: The nominations for the 70th Filmfare Awards South have been officially announced, honouring the best films from Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada cinema. The grand ceremony, held in collaboration with Kerala Tourism, will take place on February 21.
Popular films of the year such as Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran, Fahadh Faasil’s Aavesham and Sri Murali’s Bagheera have emerged as major contenders across multiple categories.
In the Telugu section, films like Kalki 2898 AD, Hanu-Man, Lucky Baskhar and Pushpa 2: The Rule received multiple nominations. Allu Arjun, Jr NTR, Nani and Dulquer Salmaan are among the nominees for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male).
Tamil cinema saw strong representation from films such as Amaran, Maharaja, Vaazhai and Meiyazhagan, with actors including Sivakarthikeyan, Dhanush, Vikram and Vijay Sethupathi competing in the top acting categories.
The Malayalam category features acclaimed films like Manjummel Boys, Aavesham, Bramayugam, Aadujeevitham and Premalu. Actors Fahadh Faasil, Mammootty, Prithviraj and Tovino Thomas are nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male).
