7 arrested in connection with illegal sex-determination racket in Agra

The Uttar Pradesh Police arrested seven people in connection with an illegal sex-determination racket in Agra.

The Uttar Pradesh Police and the special task force (STF) on Monday arrested seven people after they conducted raids at few locations in Agra in connection with an illegal sex-determination racket. Revealing details about the case, SSP Agra Bablu Kumar said six people were arrested by the STF in Raipura Ahir area of Achhnera, while a nurse was arrested in the Trans Yamuna colony for running a sex-determination racket using portable ultrasound machines at home. All the accused were sent to jail, while the masterminds -- Dr Rajiv Kumar, Pankaj Kumar, and Dheeraj -- are still absconding.
