49ers want a first-round pick in potential Jimmy Garoppolo trade
NY Post
The 49ers don’t want to trade Jimmy Garoppolo, but if they did, they’d need a first-round NFL Draft pick in return.
That’s reportedly the asking price for San Francisco’s incumbent quarterback, who was rendered a lame duck after the team traded up to the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft – ostensibly to select his replacement. Mike Giardi of the NFL Network reported that the 49ers are asking for a first rounder in any potential trade. They have previously said they have no interest in moving him and will give him the chance to compete for the starting job even with a new quarterback, but if anyone were to convince them, it would take a premier draft selection.
SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
