
25 mobile fish retail outlets provided to SHGs women in Telangana

25 mobile fish retail outlet vehicles flagged off in Hyderabad to support women entrepreneurs in fish business.
To support women in generating livelihood under the Indira Mahila Shakti programme, 25 mobile fish retail outlet (MFRO) vehicles were flagged off by Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Dansari Anasuya (Seethakka) at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad on Friday ( December 3, 2025).
Each of the vehicles has space to stock raw fish on one side, cooked fish on the other side, ice box, stove, wash basin. Women from Self Help Groups (SHG) were sanctioned the vehicles by the Fisheries Department under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).
The approximate unit cost is ₹10.00 lakhs, out of which 60% was provided as subsidy from the scheme and 40% was member contribution.
Officials from the Telangana Fisheries Department earlier said that the beneficiaries were provided with training on how ‘Fish Value added products & Business Management’ by National Institute of Tourism & Hospitality Management (NITHM),Gachibowli Hyderabad in December first week. They were taught how to cook variety of fish dishes and methods to maintain hygienic practices in food handling, food presentation.

Ahead of the initial proceedings of the Global Big Cat Summit set to be held in Bandipur and Nagarahole between February 9 and 13, the Nagarahole Adivasi Jamma Paale Hakku Sthapana Samithi (NAJHSS), a federation of gram sabhas in Nagarahole forests, have alleged that the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) is a facade to further occupy indigenous lands and intensify their exploitation.
