2 watches worth lakhs stolen from south Mumbai mall, one arrested

A man was arrested on Sunday for stealing two watches worth lakhs from Mumbai's Phoenix mall.
A man was arrested by the NM Joshi Marg police on Sunday for stealing two watches worth Rs 2.5 lakh from Phoenix mall in Mumbai’s Lower Parel. Police have also recovered the stolen watches.
The man, identified as Atik Afzal Sheikh, stole the watches on the night of May 15. Afterwards, a police team was formed to nab the accused.
A police official said, “The accused is in our custody and has previous offences. CCTV footage from the mall showed him reaching for the watches through the showroom’s shutter. We arrested him from his home in Qureshi Nagar."
Sheikh has been charged with ‘theft in dwelling house’ under the Indian Penal Code. He has been remanded to police custody.
