Over a hundred people lost their lives as Maharashtra was hit by heavy showers, triggering landslides that inundated the homes of thousands of people, displacing them. At least 129 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents in Maharahstra over the last two days as the state continues to receive heavy downpours. Among the deceased are 38 people who were killed in a landslide in Raigad district's Talai village on Thursday. Meanwhile, several roads were swept away by floodwaters in the state. PM @narendramodi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who lost their lives due to a landslide in Raigad, Maharashtra. Rs. 50,000 would be given to the injured.
