1 person dead, another in hospital after small aircraft crashes near Lacombe

The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the collision that the pilot dead and his passenger in hospital.
A male pilot is dead and his male passenger is in hospital with serious injuries after an aircraft crashed Saturday afternoon near Lacombe, Alta.
Blackfalds RCMP say officers responded to a distress beacon from an aircraft near Range Road 241 and Towship Road 412, northeast of Lacombe.
Mounties say the male pilot was found dead at the scene. His passenger was taken to an Edmonton-area hospital.
The Transportation Safety Board couldn't yet specify what type of aircraft was involved, describing it only as "small." A team of TSB investigators is on its way to the area.
